MYKONOS, GREECE
During my travels to Greece, Mykonos was one of the shorter stops (only 2 days), so I was not able to see or do as much as I normally would. It’s a beautiful island and it definitely is a scene, but I can understand the draw to this island that is known for day parties, beach clubs, and more partying. However, there are also parts of the island that are more chill and relaxed, so here’s my short list.
STAY: NISSAKI
It’s all about how close you can stay to the beach clubs in Mykonos. This boutique hotel is a stone’s throw away from Nammos which is one of, if not the beach club to be at in Mykonos. Literally a 10 mins walk to Nammos, you can hear the music blasting from across the water which can be a good or bad thing. The staff here are very friendly and there’s a few pools on the property in case one isn’t enough.
EXPLORE: PRINCIPOTE PANORMOS BEACH
Opened by a former Nammos exec, this gorgeous beach club is new to the Mykonos scene, but setting a new bar for beach clubs. The beach club is located on Panormos beach which is a fairly remote, un-touched area of Mykonos. The trek is worth it. The beach is beautiful and secluded, the property is casual, yet insanely chic at the same time. My favorite touch are the beach umbrellas which are crocheted and look super chic with the beach beds. Dine al-fresco and take in the sun, music, and drinks as the food is so delicious here you’ll want to spend all day and night at this secluded oasis.
EXPLORE: NAMMOS BEACH
Otherwise known as the hottest beach club on the island, Nammos put itself on the map for it’s yacht crowd and champagne spraying day parties. From locals to celebrities, you can find pretty much everyone here during the peak months of summer. But it’s not to be intimidated by as everyone is really nice and you’ll find an array of people here from the partiers to even families just hanging out. I prefer something quieter and more relaxed like Principote, but if you want the full Mykonos experience, then this is the spot.
EXPLORE: SCORPIOS
If day partying isn’t your thing, and you’re more a night person, then there’s no other place to go than Scorpios. This sprawling desert property atop a rocky cliff, is an exclusive party mecca to come dance, eat, and drink into the early hours of the morning. The property design is pretty stunning with a mix of modern simplicity paired with wooden beam structures draped in dark cloths. I was feeling a very Rick Owens vibe while I was there. The food is surprisingly amazing here as I wasn’t expecting much from a trendy club that rages on into the next morning, but it is legit. For all of the hype that Scorpios has, it definitely does not disappoint. Expect to wait in lines for pretty much anything: bathrooms, entry, restaurant, etc.
